How we list

Who is listed. An agency is on Reel Roster when its own website says, in a sentence we can quote, that it makes content for its clients: video, photography, social media posts, ad creative or written content. We read the agency's home page and a few of its own pages about its services. The sentence is shown under the agency's name with a link to the page it came from.

Which lists. Every city has a list of content agencies. A city also has a video, social, ad creative, photo or writing list when at least 4 of its agencies say they make that kind of content.

The order. On a city's list of content agencies, the agencies whose own sites say they make the most kinds of content (video, photo, social, ad creative, writing) come first. On a video, social, ad creative, photo or writing list, the agencies whose own sites say more about making that kind of content come first: we count the separate sentences that say so, up to 4. Agencies with the same count are ordered by their Google rating weighed by the number of reviews behind it (ten reviews at 4.4 are added to every agency's own, so a 5.0 from three reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from two hundred). Then by the number of reviews.

Where a list says some positions on it are set by our editors, those positions are set by hand, including for businesses that have a commercial relationship with us; every other position follows this method.

What we don't do. We don't judge an agency's work, and a rating reflects clients' experience, not the views a campaign gets. Ask any agency for recent work made for a business like yours before you sign.

Figures. Ratings and review counts as of October 2026. Agencies' sites read in October 2026.

Corrections. If something about your agency is wrong, or you'd like it taken off, write to contact@reelroster.com.au from an address on your agency's website.
